Duct Cleaning
What is air duct cleaning?
STOP’s service includes the cleaning of various heating and cooling system components of forced air systems, including the supply and return air ducts and registers, grilles and diffusers, accessible heating and cooling coils, accessible drip pans, fan motor and housing, and the air handler unit housing. STOP also can provide an EPA registered botanical disinfectant after the system is cleaned.
Upon completion of the cleaning, STOP will conduct a comprehensive post cleaning checklist with the customer to verify the job was completed per industry standards.
Deciding Whether or Not to Have Your Air Ducts Cleaned?
If no one in your property suffers from allergies or unexplained symptoms or illnesses and if, after a visual inspection of the inside of the ducts, you see no indication that your air ducts are contaminated with debris, dust, mold and/or soot particles, having your air ducts cleaned is probably unnecessary.
STOP recommends that you have your air ducts cleaned if:
- There is substantial visible mold growth inside the ducts or on other components of your heating and cooling system.
- An indoor air quality specialist determines the need to have your heating and cooling system cleaned.
- The ducts are infested with vermin, e.g. (rodents or insects)
- The ducts are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris and/or particles are actually released in your property from your supply registers; or
- Your property is impacted by water, fire or any other disaster that results in contaminants entering your heating and cooling system.
